“Huh??”

My ‘bilateral’ talk with Hendri had reached a decision.

As I had expected, my hubby disagreed on my idea to upgrade my WordPress acct. By this, I was hoping I could have ‘more’ uploads space **hehehe**

Then I looked a few other options:

>> Delete my previous uploaded pics and move them to Flickr. OK, my life is not just about blogging. I opted for another option instead.

>> Create another blog – either external or internal. I chose a new internal blog – within WordPress. Less hassles for me.

So, I’m officially done with the new blog. Yes, it has a different URL’s name though slightly similar :P

OK then see you all at our NEW NEST: ourfootprints2.wordpress.com

Cheers,

From a place where sun is very much needed! YES, I crave for sun!!!!!.. That’s so obvious :P

BIG Opsss!!

Oh oh…
I was trying to upload a picture for my new post when I got a pop out message that I’ve have used up all my space quota. Didn’t believe it myself. I scrolled down and there I read 100% used of 50 MB.

BIG Opssss

Well, I have one obvious remedy for the problem. “Upgrading” my acct. Meaning: Buying extra space for my upload directory. When it comes to $ now it gets more ‘tricky.’ WHY? Because I have to persuade one man in the house – that would be my hubby- to let me upgrade our wordpress acct. Mmm, what is the chance for him to say ‘yes’? Knowing him, it’s a very slim chance

So for the time being, I may have to let this blog goes ‘dormant’ while I am negotiating w/ my hubby.

Lets see then. ‘Please wish me luck’ ***wink wink***

PS. Actually I have other option for this problem. Deleting some pics on my previous posts and move them to Flickr. But still, it wouldn’t leave me adequate memory space for future postings.

PUDDLES

Jigsaw Puddle

Sloshing my boot in the pavement puddle
I jiggle the sky above,

I fold the clouds in a sheep-like huddle,

I bobble the sun in the blue and white muddle

And then I stand still

Till the jigsaw puddle
Is smooth as a mirror again!

Ah, who doesnt love puddles? I guess all li’l children love them including mine too :P

“You can date the evolving life of a mind, like the age of a tree, by the rings of friendship formed by the expanding central trunk”

- Mary McCarthy, How I Grew

Time can go in a blink especially when it comes to a child. I’ve watched my little girl takes early steps of her own friendship quest. Wherever we would be in the future, I do hope Emily would treasure her early childhood friends.

For me, season can evolve but sweet memories are meant to be treasured

Those memories are footprints of special people in our lives :)

Note: Hendri is reading bedtime stories with Emily and here I am writing this posting. It’s 1 Celcius outside. Not too bad ‘eh?? The forecast is supposedly warming up by new week. Myself have my fingers crossed knowing nature always reveals its own surprises in the last minute. I am sooo ready for Summer. Ah, if we could skip Spring here that would be nice :P

WordPress just released new themes. I personally like the ‘misty look’ though I did change the header and used a custom one. Hey, what do you think?

tulips2.jpegShowed the new look to Hendri and he likes it. So, I guess this is our new spring theme for our blog **hehehe** In summer, I may change the look again. Well, depends – lets see then. (pic on right: source by ‘muffet’ on www.flickr.com)

Have a nice Friday folks!

Tata for now. BLESSINGS.

As time progresses, she has apparently emerged to become her own person. I treasure each moment with her (and this includes ‘bad days too’). Her favorite phrases:

“I’m sorry mommy, I made you sad” Being a stay at home mom can be sometimes tiring especially when your preschooler is not in her best mood. Have you ever heard a saying that goes “little children are smart creatures”? Emily definitely knows her magic words could work like a charm on her mommy as it just melts my heart. Yes, I’m such a softie!! :P

“Dad you eat all the time!” I dont understand why Emily loves to pick on her dad :P Frankly, my hubby needed a second opinion from one opinionated munchkin that he really should be … on diet.

“I am going with daddy. Mommy be good at home” Hahaha. She basically sounded … just like me :P

“I’m a little princess and you are princess mommy (while pointing at me)” Ah, nobody would tell me that except her.

Her BEST phrase that I’d never get tire to hear till the rest of my life:

“I love you mommy”

Winter Wonderland

There are strange and mysterious sounds
When the winds of winter blow,
The long nights are crystal clear and cold,
And the fields and meadows are covered with snow.
The stars are frosty against the sky,
And the wind’s whistle is shrill,
As the snow blows against the house
And drifts against the hill.
Yet, I like to see during the winter
A white carpet on the ground,
To plod aimlessly in the deep snow,
where deer tracks abound.
I like to feel the stillness
Of a crisp winter’s night,
Watching a full moon rise over the horizon,
Exposing a winter wonderland beautiful and bright.

Last Monday (02/26), we had another round of snowing. Thank goodness it was not a snow storm. Last year, we still even had snowing in March so, I wouldnt be surprised if it was not the last snowing for the season :P

“Oh Canada, Oh Canada” = “Oh Freezing Toes, Oh Freezing Toes” Hey, I LOVE this place!! Would we be HERE next winter? ONLY God knows.

dsc04472.JPG

You could say I’m a sentimental person :P

Each year, we celebrate a very special day in February. Hint: it’s not that ‘red heart shaped’ day. Ah, the valentine’s day. I expected for rose/s but sad to find out they were at a florist located somewhere in BC interior  Or worst, my roses might be still at their farm .. in Timbuktu. His defense? We were all sick. OK, I’ve moved on!! **Ahem!!**

Life is full of unexpected surprises. It never occurred in our little minds that we’d end up somewhere thousands miles away from Texas. On the morning of February 21st 2005, we boarded a plane (w/ 6 giant luggages) and headed to Vancouver, British Columbia. where-is-texas.gif

We got very good airfare deals (Emily had her own seat). On the other hand, as Delta Airline had just recently filed the Bankruptcy Protection so, for our 4 1/2 hrs flight we filled our growling stomachs with peanuts – lots of them. Luckily, we had brought Emily’s foods in our carry-on bags. A full stomached baby did make the trip so much pleasant :P No tears shed :P No agitated on-lookers :P

ca-bc.gifFast forward to the present. Sometimes in life, there’re few life changing experiences that could have so much impacts on your life and in our case, Canada is the place. LOL. (Right pic: Bristish Columbia Flag).

After being here for 2 years, we’ve somehow picked up couple new habits:

  • Don’t make me to drive on 6 highway lanes like those in TX!!
  • Love my long drive on rural streets. I enjoy driving pass open fields. What a SERENITY.
  • Hello a li’l northern gal. I’ve watched our munchkin emerged as a true northern. She seems to prefer rains than having too much sun :P At her bedtime, she sleeps with indoor temperature ranging around 12C while her mom is very thankful to people who invented those down comforters centuries ago.
  • Hey parallel parkings here I come!! Though, it’s insignificant to mention but I just have to blurt it out :P I’m so good with it now!! So proud of myself!! **hehehe**
  • Mmmm, what’s the word?? Cocoooniiiiing. Though we love to be outdoor enjoying sceneries (and nice weather), there’re days when we chose to cocooning at home. Like last night. Three of us snuggled on our couch watching short documentary film about – Frogs. Realizing none of us is either a biologist or a zoologist, so after half an hour being educated about frogs then, we did what was necessary – turned off the telly!!

Emily was still ‘a baby’ – 15 months old when we left Arlington-Texas. Her smiles did brighten our hectic moving days :P

dsc02209.JPGdsc02301.JPGdsc02350.JPG

Our neighbour came by to give Emily a farewell gift. A dancing snowman :P I do pray I could meet w/ the elderly lady again when we visit Arlington oneday. Yes, we’re furnitureless as most stuffs were in the storage and were ready to be shipped to Canada.

Our LAST trip to Houston. At KEMAH, Galveston Island. We DO miss Houston :)

dsc02243.JPGdsc02245.JPG

Our LAST pic w/ Emily’s li’l friends. They were all 2003 babies and NOW, they’re not babies anymore :P

L-R: Ethan, Emily and Lindsey. Missing: Audrey :) (already in JKT).

Our DAY ONE in Vancouver, BC. February 21st 2005. We stopped by at Yaohan Center-Richmond to fill up our growling stomachs.

dsc02536.JPG

It was A SUNNY BRIGHT day when we arrived.

dsc02550.JPG

Time DID fly so fast. Emily in Feb 2005 VS Feb 2007. Mmm, yes, in terms of her height, she is even still a munchkin now.
dsc02571.JPGdsc04365.JPG

I am not talking about those creepy little creatures I used to find inside our mail box in Texas.

Whenever people mention “bugs,” there’re 2 things immediately come across my mind. First is the FLU bugs. Computer bugs may come in the 2nd place. Oh, about the computer bugs, I’m not going to bash certain OS’s. Or dare I to say – Windows Vista vs Mac OS.

Sorry for being side-tracked. Blamed it on the antihistamine in my system. Been sleep deprived too. I sleep whenever she can sleep.

Emily never had caught influenza in Texas and the history has changed until we’ve moved here. The culprit? May be the wacky cold weather. She must have picked up the flu virus at her preschool **sigh** dsc04435.JPG

With her being sick, it gives me an opportunity to teach her about one thing – empathy towards others. Though Emily is the only child (for now), we’ve determined of not raising ‘me-and-me’ individual. Now, during her night bedtime prayers, besides praying for herself we add, “please bless Emily with better health tomorrow and bless other little ones who are sick too …”

Down in my heart I believe that not only her ears listen but heart listens too. The world in her own time may be more ruthless than ours so a bit of empathy in her may make a difference. It’s a mother’s hope :)

OK, I need to take another doze of Nyquil

Chicken soup anyone??? :) Hope ALL is WELL!!

ps. If Hendri asks me what I’d want for my belated Valentine’s gift, my answer: SLEEP and a-nice-but-cheap hair cut.
